- Design and develop applications
- Generate database objects and application code
- Tune database
- Work with customer DBAs to identify problem queries and bottleneck procedures in Oracle Forms and Reports code and in stored Oracle database views, procedures, and functions
- Establish baseline query-execution statistics prior to tuning
- Re-write queries and procedures, and implement new indexes, in order to improve performance and reduce the number of “locked out” users resulting from inefficient code and unnecessary over utilization of database-server resources
